Been needing to get away from it all? How about going far away from it all, in Colorado’s beautiful Rocky Mountain wilderness? A stay at the Laughing Coyote Lodge is just that! Experience a remote vacation spot up the road a bit from Dolores, Colorado and Groundhog Reservoir and short distance down the road from San Juan National Forest. There’s a large log-cabin-style  lodge that sleeps twenty-four people and two cabin that each sleep six. TV and phones won’t interrupt the surrounding nature, but you’ll have hospitable accomadations, running hot water and beautiful views in every direction. 

The Right Mix of Comfort & Space

The log cabin-type main lodge sleeps 20 and is fully equipped with all linens and kitchen utensils. The large common area, two kitchens and four bathrooms assure there’s plenty of room for your group. For smaller gatherings, or if your group needs additional room, our two cabins are self-contained with linens and kitchen wares and each accommodate up to six.

Your Perfect HQ As You Explore Colorado's Fabulous San Juan Skyway

Located in southwest Colorado through the San Juan Mountains, the San Juan Skyway is one of the most scenic drives in America, with over a 100 peaks over 13000 feet! The drive spans elevations from 6,200 feet near Cortez to 11,008 feet at Red Mountain Pass. The drive is a 233-mile (375.0 km) loop traversing the heart of the San Juan National Forest, Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests. It takes about five-seven hours to drive. Along the route you'll find fresh alpine forests, historic mining towns, expansive cattle ranges, and prehistoric Indian ruins. The most challenging and rewarding part of the drive is the Million Dollar Highway.
